Group: Brighton Reccie Evaluation

  • What problems/obstacles did you encounter?
  • What did you learn that you can take to your own location reccies?
Here we used a track and dolly to create a really professional looking track along the seafront to introduce Charlie into the shot. It looked great in our opening as a surveying track of Brighton's famous pier.

We tried out a montage technique in editing with the many shots we got of me on the beach. We mad the shots short so that the sequence had the 'choppy' look seen in many music videos.

This shot was created with a tilt down technique using the tripod.

In Adobe Premiere we slowed down this shot of a spinning windmill.

This close up shot of Charlie laughing cut from an MCU shot looks really good as it shows an invasive range of depths of the character's (artists) face in a music video

This is part of a montage of handicam, spontaneous shots of the three of us. It has a really candid feel which looked great with our upbeat, pop accompanying track.

Here shows a racking focus technique we used on an MCU of Charlie which is a pull of focus from a soft focus shot.

A 360 degrees pan was something we saw in many pop music videos to survey the surroundings and introduce characters into shot. We experimented with it on the pier.

This is a screenshot from our time lapse sequence. Although it is interesting looking and generic of music videos we also noticed it was quite tacky looking.

This low angle shot was used as our final shot for our mock music video.
